Donald Bell (1948 - 2001)

Biography

Donald Bell was born in Pasadena, CA in 1948 and served in the USMC in Vietnam. A painter and construction worker by day, Donald spent his downtime carving wood. He first began with totem poles, benches, and other furniture and later moved on to various fishing flies, fish, and other river creatures.

Donald used cedar from Northern California and used a single Swiss Army Knife to carve his creations. In 2001, Donald died from Non Hodgkins Lymphoma and up until now, his work had never been publicly shown.
