Teresa N. Fischer (1971 - )
Teresa N. Fischer was born in Terre Haute, Indiana in 1971.
Like many from her generation, she grew up playing with little people, weeble wobbles, and silly putty, while Mr. Rogers, Captain Kangaroo, and Sesame Street played in the background. Teresa returns to these early visual influences in her still life paintings today.
Teresa recalls the magic of childhood in her finely detailed oil paintings. She combines familiar yet surprising elements in varied combinations to tell a playful visual story. Using dramatic lighting and shadow she elevates nostalgic objects to iconic importance.
She is influenced by such masters asJohn Singer Sargent, Edmund Tarbell, Ingres, Alma-Tadema, Robert Vickrey, and Kit Williams.
