Laura Hohlwein

Biography
Laura Hohlwein is painter, poet and professor of Art and Creative Writing at The Art Institute of California, Sacramento. She holds an MFA in New Media from Transart Institute in Austria and an MFA in Creative Writing from Vermont College. Ms. Hohlwein was the recipient of two teaching grants from the California Arts Council for her work with prison inmates. Ms. Hohlwein also serves as Art Director for The Readers of Homer, a non-profit international literary event group that has produced audience-participation readings at The Library of Alexandria, The 92nd Street Y and The Getty Museum in Malibu. She has been a professional painter for twenty years and has exhibited in California, New Jersey, New York, Italy and France.
