Mel Smothers Biography
I’m in a struggle to transfer the mystery of nature into paint. About the “Andy Dialogs.” 10 yrs ago I found myself painting postcards to Andy Warhol. It was a fun thing, dealing with myth of contacting the dead artist, celebrity vs nature as art, and an outsider from northern California moving to NYC. MFA University of Idaho, 1999. Solo, group and public art commissions in NYC, Miami, Chicago, and San Francisco. 5 museum collections. I have hard to find studio in Chelsea, NYC.
